“Jesus Is Just Alright” is a song which was written in the 1960s by Art Reynolds and has been covered by The Byrds, The Doobie Brothers, and DC Talk. It’s a good song, I like it (including the The Deee-Lite sample/beat in the DC Talk rendition below).

Lyrically and personally, Jesus has always been alright with me. More so once I distilled things down to just his message. He is one of the wise ones with whom I am most familiar.

This Easter, Jesus is particularly meaningful to me in that I’ve been experiencing more and more of his message, that we can transcend the non-loving ways of our world through love. Jesus was a kind, gentle, and peaceful man whose message was simple: “I am the way,” the way to be, if you want to experience heaven on earth, or ascension. Whereas in his time it was thought that ascension could only be attained through death — resurrection — today ascension can be attained through life.

I wish that Jesus hadn’t suffered as he had. He didn’t deserve to. On this Easter, I thank Jesus for showing me that there is another way, the way of love, which can reap miracles and blessings far greater than what can be imagined or attained by other means. Some would call it magic; certainly, it’s magical. For me, it’s been every bit worth the journey and the destiny.
